On Dec 17th 1984, the newly minted Hooligan’s Drinkery served its first beverage. Side Note: the now world famous AMF didn’t come along until 1987.
Hooligan’s expanded into the upstairs portion of The Daily Grind Coffehouse and dubbed it Hooligan’s Upstairs Pub. The downstairs Hooligan’s was the “party” part of the bar that most folks remember so fondly (dance floor/DJ etc) while the upstairs (The Pub) was much more the laid back, pool and darts, 'let's have a break from the chaos' area.
In 1992, when the owner of the building(Dunnkirk Square)decided not to extend the lease on the downstairs Hooligan’s portion of the building, The Pub decided to retire its Hooligan’s moniker with that section of the building; the decision was made to continue on in the upstairs area as just The Upstairs Pub.
