A bulldog named Ox served as the football team's mascot from 1959–1965. Indiana had a bison as its mascot in the late 1960s and introduced a mascot named "Hoosier Pride" in 1979. Indianapolis ABC's

The Indianapolis ABCs were a Negro League Baseball team that played both as an independent club and as a charter member of the first Negro National League.  Originally organized by the American Brewing Company (thus "A.B.C.s") in the early 20th century, the team was managed by Ran Butler in 1911. By 1915, the ABCs were already challenging Rube Foster's Chicago American Giants for supremacy in black baseball. Bush Stadium Poster

Bush Stadium was the name of a former baseball in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was home to the Indianapolis Indians. It was also home to a few Negro League teams as well. The stadium started life as Perry Stadium, named for Norm Perry, the club owner who built it in 1931. It was renamed Victory Field in 1942 in reference to World War II. In 1967 the ballpark was sold to the city of Indianapolis. Later that same year it was renamed for former major league baseball player and Indianapolis native Donie Bush, who had served as president of the Indians from 1955 to 1969. Various scenes from Eight Men Out were also filmed at the stadium. After the Indians moved to a newer ballpark in 1996, the stadium was turned into a dirt track called 16th Street Speedway. The Indiana Twisters were a professional indoor soccer team that played in the Continental Indoor Soccer League in 1996 and 1997. Announced as a CISL expansion team on February 22, 1996, the team received its nickname after a "Name the Team" contest that drew more than 250 entries. The name "Tornados" was the winning entry, but team owners altered that a bit to capitalize on the release that summer of the motion picture Twister.
