AFSP 988 Youth

The American Foundation For Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) mission is to Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide. You can find one of our 74 Chapters of AFSP (including Washington DC and Purta Rico) by visiting afsp.org/chaptersFunds raised by AFSP help support critical research, promote advocacy at both the state and federal level, provide free resources throughout our communities, provide trainings to schools, workplaces, orgs and community groups, and support individuals impacted by suicide.

AFSP is proud to partner with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.  The 10-digit National Suicide Prevention Lifeline transitioned to 988 in July of 2022 – an easy-to-remember three-digit number for 24/7 crisis care. The lifeline, which also links to the Veterans Crisis Line, follows a three-year joint effort by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to put crisis care more in reach for people in need.

We can all help prevent suicide.

For people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals in the United States, please contact 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Call. Text. Chat.
